Why this dilemma matters
Technology rarely asks for permission once it works, so the ethics has to land before deployment. Choosing “Use AI screening, even if bias becomes harder to see” prioritises the capability it unlocks; choosing “Keep humans first, even if hiring takes longer” gives more weight to the agency it costs.
