Why this dilemma matters
Technology rarely asks for permission once it works, so the ethics has to land before deployment. Choosing “Use the tutor, even if it learns intimate habits” prioritises the capability it unlocks; choosing “Avoid the tutor, even if your child falls behind” gives more weight to the agency it costs.
