Why this dilemma matters
These dilemmas put rules and circumstances against each other and demand a verdict. Choosing “Report them — property destruction undermines the rule of law, regardless of the cause” prioritises the letter of the law; choosing “Stay silent — the urgency of the climate crisis makes some rule-breaking morally defensible” gives more weight to the spirit behind it.
