These dilemmas put rules and circumstances against each other and demand a verdict. Choosing “Taci: l'azione ha impedito un danno reale e denunciarlo significherebbe punire chi ha protetto l'ambiente” prioritises the letter of the law; choosing “Lo denunci: nessuno può farsi giustizia da solo, anche per cause giuste, senza minare lo stato di diritto” gives more weight to the spirit behind it.
