These dilemmas put rules and circumstances against each other and demand a verdict. Choosing “Tell the assessor. Credit should match the work done” prioritises the letter of the law; choosing “Stay quiet. Absorb it rather than throw them under the bus” gives more weight to the spirit behind it.
